Another Drupal upgrade

Major Upgrade

Yesterday I finally upgraded drupal to version 5.2. It seems that I managed to make most (hopefully all) functionality work in the new version. As far as new features go, I hope to make use of them as we redesign the pages.

Testing authorship module

Website updates

I have added couple of things to the website recently. On the right side, you can now see a list of most active forum topics, as well as list of recent posts. My hope was to make the forums more prominent on the page, and bring more people into the discussions. It didn’t seem to work, though, as the most recent post is still my own 3 weeks old “call for posts”. I guess everybody is pretty busy right now.

Registration

During the weekend, (hopefully) all faculty has been registered as users of this website. You should all have received an email with login instructions.

After you login the first time, please change your pasword, and check that all your contact information (department, phone number, office number) are correct. If there are any discrepancies, you can correct them, or simply let me know, I will correct them for you. You can also add your research and personal interests and an URL of your personal web page.

Drupal upgrade

Maybe some people noticed that the weg-site has been taken off-line this morning for a little while. I upgraded drupal to the newest point release, that fixes several bugs and patches several security vulnerabilities. The whole process was surprisingly smooth. Hopefully the mysterious firefox login bug got fixed by that. If it didn’t I will keep working on it. Let me know if you experience any problems.

It has been a while

Under Documents->Labor Traditions, you can find some material transfered over from the old site.

I also added a web link section, where we can post web links to other sites. Suggestions for web links are welcomed.

Halloween Banquet photo uploaded

Image module is now installed. Users who are granted appropriate privileges can now upload images and organize them into galleries. Gary’s pictures from the fall banquet are now available.
